Melrose is considered a multi-purpose apple.
This is Ohio’s official state apple and a cross between Jonathan and Red Delicious.
Medium-large, roundish apple with a yellow background skin colour that's almost entirely blushed with red. Firm, coarse, juicy, creamy white flesh. Slightly acidic with flavour that improves after some time in storage.
Uses:
Fresh eating. Cooks well as it holds its shape. Good storge apple.
